VR Drives
While working at Urban Timetravel, I worked on a few VR projects. These were developed in Unity3D as a VR application for the Pico.
The goal of these VR rides was to have a vehicle drive a specific route through a city. During the ride the passengers wear VR glasses and see, via GPS, the city recreated at the place where they are in the real world e.g. 400 years ago. During this fascinating journey through time, they are each accompanied by a tour guide in the real world and in the VR world. They tell them something about what they see in VR and in real life.
For each VR trip, the system was individually adapted to the respective vehicle and further optimized. For example, in Otterberg a real carriage with horses was used, in Pfaffenthal a tractor that was converted into a „train“ by an external company and in Esch a converted Sprinter with space for up to 20 people.
